Our R&D team consists of 12 colleagues and a number of interns. Together we are continuously working on the development of innovative concepts and products for livestock farming. We collaborate with knowledge institutes, companies and customers to develop new products. Quality is of paramount importance within our HyCare philosophy, and as an R&D Specialist you contribute to this. You do this through your creative input and extensive knowledge of microbiology.
The Schippers Group has R&D laboratories in which nutritional products (complementary animal feed, drinking water additives) and hygiene products (cleaning and disinfecting agents, hygiene powders) are developed and tested. These products find their way into professional livestock farming worldwide.
The Schippers Group is a family owned company founded in 1966. It is one of the largest suppliers for intensive livestock farming globally with 14 offices, activities in 40+ countries and more than 500 employees. Today, The Schippers Group encompasses multiple brands all united in their mission to eliminate AMR. The Schippers Group will increasingly focus on international expansion of its brands and customers. By expanding activities on large-scale livestock companies globally, we can significantly decrease the use of antibiotics in livestock farming and provide effective, tailor-made hygiene solutions for livestock farmers that yield healthier animals and higher profits.
What will you do as an R&D Specialist Microbiology?
Microbiology is a relatively new discipline within the R&D department of The Schippers Group and very important for developing and testing novel products. Setting up and further developing our own laboratory is one of your core tasks. If you really feel at home in the laboratory and if you want to be the driving force in the field of microbiology within our R&D department, then this opportunity with a lot of freedom could be of interest for you.
As an R&D Specialist Microbiology you actively seek collaboration with suppliers and knowledge institutes. In addition, you will conduct microbiological research in the laboratory and you may also make use of our three experimental farms. Your communication skills allow smooth connection with stakeholders, both internally and externally, to make your projects a success!
In this role, you work together with colleagues on the development of innovative solutions for livestock farming, in order to improve the health of animals, people and the environment. For example, we contribute significantly to reduce the use of antibiotics in farm animals.
